Time To Let Go.....David Beckham

Annie

There comes a time in every ballers life that they have to say goodbye to the game, hang up the equipment and leave the running, jumping and playing to the next generation. That time has come for soccer favorite (and allround banger) David Beckham. Beckham (37) has been playing professionally since 1992 (19 yrs for the mathmatically challenged).

Beckham did not make the starting lineup for the 18 man squad for Team Britain Olympic summer games.

After failing to qualify for the team Beckham had this to say:
"Everyone knows how much playing for my country has always meant to me, so I would have been honored to have been part of this unique Team GB squad. Naturally I am very disappointed, but there will be no bigger supporter of the team than me. And like everyone, I will be hoping they can win the gold."

Becks... I <3 you..I really, do but it may be time to start thinking about retirement. Go out on top and leave the soccer playing to the next generation. I may have never watched you run the field or kick a ball but I have enjoyed every 1 of your ads.....
