Whelp the NBA is hitting Amare Stoudemire where it hurts….in the wallet. TMZ is reporting that Amare has been fined 50k for tweeting a homophobic slur to a fan.
Amare also publicly apologized by saying:
“I am a huge supporter of civil rights for all people. I am disappointed in myself for my statement to a fan.”
The fine is a direct result of the twitter exchange below. Amare also received our Dumb @ss of the day award for this stunt.
