Rumor has it that Katie Holmes is not getting a a load of cash in her divorce from Tom Cruise:
TMZ is reporting that Tom Cruise did not pay Katie Holmes a lump sum in his divorce settlement, but he will pay handsomely in the child support department … sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ.
Our well-connected sources tell us … reports that Katie scored $50 million are “ridiculous.” We’re told she did not get a lump sum of money at all. As we previously reported, Katie signed a prenup which gave her goose eggs by ending the marriage. And, sources connected with Katie have been telling us from day 1 that she was not after his money. As one source put it, “She has her own money.”
We do know, however, that Tom is paying “a lot of money” in the form of child support. Tom will be making regular payments for 12 years. Our sources say all tolled, Tom will be paying “more than $10 million” in child support, though no one would be more specific.
This situation gets more and more interesting...Katie must have really wanted to get out because she planned her escape like a convict breaking out of Attica!
It's official...After 5 yrs of marriage Katie Holmes has filed for divorce from Tom Cruise! Citing irreconcilable differences Holmes is seeking sole custody of their 6 yr old daughter Suri sole legal custody and "primary residential custody" of Suri as well.
After the media got wind of the split (the documents were filed anonymously without names) Katie's rep released this statement:
"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family... Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."
Tom's rep released this statement:
"Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy to work this out."
TMZ is reporting that the cause of the split is Tom's involvement in the Scientology Church and that Katie has never been fully committed to Scientology, even though she has had ties with the church. The couple the couple had been arguing over Suri -- that she's now of the age where Scientology becomes a significant part of her life. It is rumored that Katie filed for sole custody because she does not want Tom to control decisions related to religion.
Wheeeew you just KNOW that this is going to get U-G-L-Y....It has been rumored for years that Katie is in fact Toms beard and that the minute her contract was up she would be headed for the hills like Von Trapps in the Sound of Music. Stay tuned cause I'm sure there is lots more dramz ahead.
